Strawberry Cashew Milk
This is a delicious milk alternative that is refined sugar free with no additives.
Naturally sweetened by fresh berries, this is a creamy vegan cashew milk that tastes like strawberries and cream.
Enjoy as a milk alternative, as a smoothie, afternoon snack or added to overnight oats. This recipe is suited for Vegan, Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Paleo diets.
WHAT IS STRAWBERRY NUT MILK
Nut milks are dairy-free alternatives using a nut, such as almonds or cashews, soaked and blended with water. For a sweet, seasonal treat I’ve added strawberries to a traditional thick cashew milk recipe.
All you need are two ingredients, fresh strawberries and raw cashews. Be sure to choose ripe strawberries and cashews that have not been roasted and are unsalted.
It is better to control the amount of salt you want in this recipe. Add a pinch of sea salt as desired, along with sweetener. I use raw honey, stevia or maple syrup or no sweetener at all when preparing this recipe for my clients. It all depends on your taste preference.
STRAWBERRY CASHEW MILK INGREDIENTS
To make this recipe, you will need the following:
- 2 cups raw, unsalted cashews (whole cashews are more fresh then pieces)
- 4 cups filtered water
- pinch of sea salt
- pinch of sweetener if desired (such as local honey, real maple syrup or stevia)
WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE YOUR OWN CASHEW MILK
As we make choices for a healthier diet and lifestyle, we have to look at the ingredients of any food that comes in a box or container.
In order to keep nut milks shelf stable for longer then one week, ingredients are added that may not work with your body. It is great, and easy, to make your own cashew milk because you will avoid the following ingredients:
- Carrageenan (hard to digest & may lead to inflammation)
- Refined Sugar (cane sugar, corn syrup)
- Synthetic Ingredients (Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin D2, Calcium Carbonate, DI-Alpha Tocopherol Acetate)
- Citric Acid (preservative)
- Food Coloring

HOW LONG DOES CASHEW MILK KEEP IN THE FRIDGE
